Dear Intermountain Volleyball Member,

 

The Intermountain Volleyball Region is now accepting applications for various types of jobs, both full time and part time and in all areas of the region.  Some of the posted jobs are great for players and parents to earn money to help pay for the always rising club fees.  Jobs are not limited to any one demographic but rather open to all that apply.  Applications are due IN the IVA office no later than December 3rd.  Below is a listing directly from the IVA Website (www.imvolleyball.org) under the Employment Opportunities link. Tournament/Facility Staffing

Part Time Work

JOB DESCRIPTIONS - YOU MAY APPLY FOR MORE THAN ONE JOB

·  Cleaning Crew - Group of 2-6 individuals to clean the IVA facility before and after tournaments each week.  Pre Tournament cleaning would be on Thursday Evening or Friday and post tournament cleaning would occur on Saturday night, Sunday or Monday morning/afternoon.  Duties will include cleaning courts, emptying trash, cleaning office area and bathrooms.  Approximate time (5 hrs for a 2 person crew per week).  Start date would be immediately upon hire.

·  Concession Stand - We are looking at outsourcing the concession area to vendors.  If we do not outsource however, we will be looking for 2-3 individuals per week to work the concession stand.  Hours would be Fridays(3:30-9:30), Saturdays (8am-6pm).  Duties would include serving drinks and snacks, taking money, making change and set up and take down of concession items.  Start date is January 4, 2008.

·  Ticket Stand/Pro Shop - Responsible for taking money for entry into IVA Tournaments, selling items in Pro Shop and keeping entry way clear and clean.  Hours would be Fridays (3:00-8:00pm) and Saturdays (7:30am-6pm). Start date is January 4, 2008.

·  Site Directors - Responsibilities would include assisting teams which are scorekeeping and officiating during tournaments.  Coordination at sites of teams and officials and ensuring tournament runs smoothly.  Other responsibilites include reporting results, picking up and returning tournament materials from IVA.  Those hired as Site Directors are required to attend a site directors training to be held in December after hiring has completed.  Hours would be Fridays (3:30-10pm) and Saturdays (8am-6pm).   Pay for Site Directors is $80 (Fri) and $125 (Sat).

·  Assistant Tournament Director - Assist with Tournament Director Responsibilities - preparing officials bags, tournament results, etc..  Start date would be hire date.  Hours would be worked out with individual hired.  Approximately 3-5 hours per week.  (Asst Tournament Director and Asst Junior Olympic Director can be same person)

·  Assistant Junior Olympic Volleyball Director - Assist with data entry, secretarial work, coordination of junior programs.  Start date would be hire date.  Hours would be worked out with individual hired.  Approx 10-15 hours per week.  (Asst Tournament Director and Asst Junior Olympic Director can be same person)

·  Camp Clinicians - duties include instruction at IVA camps, clinics, leagues.  Start date would be hire date.  Hours would be various, mostly evening hours and amount of hours dependent upon how much you were available.  Could get anywhere from 1-20 hours per week.  Additional experience neccessary:

·  No experience needed for our K-6 program - we will train

·  Must have volleyball background

·  Love working with youth

·  Excellent Customer Service Skills

·  Must be Happy, Energetic, Enthusiastic, Positive

·  Must be Gold Medal Squared Certified or must attend IVA Coaches Training Dec 5-6 

·  Assistant Community Director - Responsibilities would include data entry, online set up of IVA camps, clinics, leagues, etc.  Hours would be determined once hired.  Approximate hours would be 10-20 per week.  Additional experienced neccessary:  

·    Have solid experience with Microsoft Office

·     Excellent customer service skills

·     Be a problem solver who is detailed oriented

·     Happy, Energetic, Enthusiastic

·     Love working with youth

·     Collect and compile data

·     Must  be volleyball oriented 

·     Must be able to write schedules for programs
