Dear Intermountain Region members and parents of athletes,

As we approach the start of our 2008 tournament season we would like to make you all aware of new IVA policies as it regards to parking and food at the IVA Center and other facilities that it uses.

Parking
The past three years we have attempted to do our best to work with our neighbors with the much needed room for parking.  Several of these business need the parking during their business hours for their own customers.  Many have been towed for parking illegally, some were towed because we had some dishonest people who would park where there was a cone, then move that cone in front of another vehicle.  Those days are DONE!  However, not much nicer for the future.  We have gone to all of our neighbors and asked them to please mark the stalls that they do not wish IVA patrons to park.  The down side is that according to Utah law, it is absolutely LEGAL for them to tow anyone on their property.

That being said - we ask that you please CAR POOL as much as possible.  We ask that you please do your best to avoid the lots of our neighbors as they could possibly tow you with no warning.  We know that the parking at IVA is not good, but ask that you please work with us and our neighbors and use legal spots to park.  Some may need to park on the street and walk, but the more that you car pool, the better off we will be.
IVA IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY TOWED VEHICLES

Food
IVA is the only region in the united states that has allowed food in it's facilities.  Nowhere else you go do they allow food in the facility, especially those with concession areas.  The rent of the IVA facility has increased 200% from last year and unfortunately that means we have to make changes, not only to fees but also to what is allowed and not allowed. Therefore, NO FOOD will be allowed into any IVA facility. This includes IVA, Open Court, Homecourt (Boise) and any other venue that IVA uses.  Please be prepared to keep your team coolers and any fast food that parents bring OUTSIDE.

Also, if you have not seen already, the IVA website (www.imvolleyball.org) has an email archive link on the main menu.  All emails sent to the IVA membership will be posted there as well.

I am sure that the above mentioned changes will come welcomed to some and not welcomed to others but we ask that you work with us to advance forward as this wonderful sport grows.

Sincerely,

IVA Staff
